Chantil Harris, LCSW, has led the organization as Chief Executive Officer/Executive Director since January 2019, bringing decades of experience, compassion, and purpose-driven leadership to her role. With a career rooted in clinical care and community service, Chantil is deeply committed to expanding access to high‑quality mental health services for individuals and families who have been historically underserved.
Under Chantil’s leadership, the organization has strengthened its programs, deepened community partnerships, and advanced a mission-centered approach that prioritizes dignity, equity, and holistic care. She provides strategic direction for organizational operations, program development, and fundraising, while working closely with the Board of Directors to ensure strong governance and long‑term sustainability. Before becoming CEO, Chantil held progressive leadership roles at Milwaukee Mental Health Associates, Inc., including Program Director and Clinical Coordinator. In these roles, she provided clinical oversight, supervised multidisciplinary teams, and ensured compliance with regulatory and quality standards. Her hands‑on leadership style is grounded in more than 25 years of experience across outpatient services, residential treatment, juvenile justice, and child welfare systems. Chantil began her career as a clinician, serving as a psychotherapist, psychiatric social worker, safety evaluator, and clinical director. This extensive frontline experience continues to shape her leadership philosophy—one that centers lived experience, trauma-informed care, and collaborative solutions that meet people where they are. She holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Fisk University and a Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Wilberforce University. Chantil is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Wisconsin, and is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. When asked what motivates her work, Chantil points to the power of community, resilience, and the belief that access to mental health care is essential—not optional—for thriving individuals in our communities.
